Whenever you are in the “Niagara Region” you should reserve sufficient time for the most scenic drive in this area. The Niagara Parkway follows the Niagara River which flows from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario. Although the route is only 56 km long, you will see many attractions along the way. Stop at the various parking lots and enjoy breathtaking sights. All along the lower river, you will see wineries or signage directing you to one. They all invite you for wine tasting and tours which familiarize you with wine making. Also watch for the fruit stands. Local grown fruits of the season are offered here.

Rod Standish has made a habit of defying musical boundaries, both with the experimentally zany and heavy Rudy Quazar, and with the down-to-earth sound of the alternative country act Roger Marin. With the launch of his own solo C.D, Rod has taken lessons that he has learned from these two bands, and mixes them with a diverse and eclectic, maybe even eccentric, blend of musical styles.

As a seasoned guitarist, a proficient bass player, a competent drummer, a powerful vocalist, a creative baritone player, and a musician who has dabbled with keyboards, the trumpet, the trombone and the mandolin, Rod is a multi-instrumentalist. Striving for versatility, Rod plays a variety of styles, including rock, blues, heavy metal, classical, jazz, ragtime, country, bluegrass, folk, funk, punk, rockabilly, avant guarde, alternative, and progressive.

As an experienced private music instructor, Rod enjoys the experience of connecting with students, as well as finding ways to get them excited and involved in not only the mechanics of music, but the philosophy and business of music as well. He is a prolific writer, composer, and arranger of original music.

Springlicious will be not only bringing great food and wine tasting opportunities but entertainment and competitions will be held over the weekend.

As a City, let’s show our spirit and plan a day organized by us, the residents of Niagara Falls. Let’s designate May 15th ‘Downtown for a Day’ where we take the time out of our busy schedule and make a point of visiting Queen Street, even if it is just for an hour.

We are shooting our 100th episode of Oh So Cosmo in Niagara Falls and plan to shoot several segments around town on May 16th. We have a regular segment on the show in which the host Josie Dye (also an announcer for 102.1 The Edge) takes a look at different events, techniques and places to meet twenty-something men.

Josie will be doing a few stand-ups to camera in various locations within the pub and then she would have a quick chat with a few guys that are here… (only those willing of course). The content is all intended to be very light and fun.

The show will be airing June 2, and reappears twice later in the week. The following are the cable systems that carry COSMO TV ROGERS DIGITAL, available on Channel 262, SHAW DIGITAL, SHAW DIRECT, BELL Channel 608 on ExpressVu digital TV, MTS available on channel 136.
